Inductive/Capacitive Coupling between two Parallel Microstrips or Striplines

The applet contained in this page is based on empirical formulas that are not very accurate. User is advised to use the new Trace Analyzer which is more versatile and more accurate.


  • Compute the per-unit-length inductive and capacitive couplings between two parallel microstrip or stripline transmission lines
  • An equivalent circuit model is drawn approximating the coupled lines

Rules and Theories

A set of empirical formulas are used.

  • Set the geometric parameters
  • Click the "Compute" button to compute
  • Read result in the text area in the lower right corner
  • Click the "Clear" button to reset the text area before another calculation
